Caudalie Product Review
I always knew I would do my own makeup, my main worry was my skin but thank goodness it was looking good on the day – hallelujah! I enjoy doing my own makeup and it’s my profession so I felt pretty casual about it… This was until I had to actually do it on the day!!
I was fine doing my mums and maid of honours makeup and it even helped me zone out a bit, but when it came to doing mine my nerves really got to me.
I felt quite panicky when I should have been calm and sadly it felt like a bit of an endurance, I just wanted it over and done with so I could focus on having fun with my bridal party. I was really
The 20s is one of my favourite eras when it comes to make up as I love a bolder lip and a bit of sparkle. It’s a great look for winter brides and if you don’t feel brave enough to wear a really dark lipstick opt for a lip stain instead for a softer look.
Here is my simple step-by-step tutorial including the products I used to create this look.
First apply a nude matt cream shadow, from the lash line up to the brow bone to create a neutral base.
I used MAC Paint Pot in Painterly
You may remember back in January I decided to run a competition for my Facebook followers. It was to win your wedding makeup!! It was a fun competition to run and so many lovely brides entered. When the competition closed I sat on my own, folded up all of the brides names on little pieces of paper, gave the bowl a little swoosh around and then picked the winner!
The winning bride Hayley actually had no idea because her best friend and Maid of Honour Ria, had entered in the hope she could surprise the bride with this fab prize!
I was later told that Ria found out she had won just as Hayley was trying on her wedding dress! What perfect timing!!!
Hayley was a classic bride and as a fellow glasses wearer she wanted to make her eyes really dramatic as they would be framed by her cool specs. She looked so glamorous!
Here is Hayley and her Maid of Honour Ria who also went for a glam ‘smokey eye’ look.
Check out my Facebook page for any future competitions!!
Back in April, I got a late night (slightly panicked) text from Vicki Lord (Bridal Hair Extraordinaire!) Basically her bride the following day had been let down by her makeup artist and was I available?… I was! And that doesn’t happen that often so I was really glad I was able to help out.
The venue was at the Port Lympne Mansion and all Vicki said was that the bride (Sarah) wanted to go for a dramatic look as she was having very creative Avant-Garde hair. I must admit that when I arrived it felt like chaos in the room that everyone was getting ready, there was stuff everywhere! Bridesmaids were doing the table plan settings whilst the others were being filmed for the ‘Marryoke’ Wedding Video. All that being said Sarah was sat having her hair styled by Vicki, super chilled and enjoying herself! I loved it!!
You will see from the photos that her hair was beautifully extravagant, and although Sarah gave me free reign on her makeup I still wanted it
